Ink Review #348: Diamine Silver Fox July 14, 2018 / Kelli McCown We are almost done with grey week, and today's grey is Diamine Silver Fox, from the 150th Anniversary Collection. The Silver Fox Course (formerly known as Jim McLean Course) is one of five 18-hole courses at Trump National Doral Miami. The courses offer a good game for players of any skill level. Unlike the Gold Course at the resort, the Silver Fox Course does not follow a traditional Floridian layout. Best vegas craps. Raised in poverty, thrust into a life of service in the revolutionary underground movement. Later this gentleman warrior turns his counter intelligence and search and destroy techniques toward less noble pursuits. Theft, abduction and murder for hire… He is the Silver Fox, or maybe I’m thinking of Carlos the Jackal… or perhaps I am just confused… at any rate Silver Fox is a very odd name for this 50cc machine from Adly. Especially considering the fact that it looks more like a miniaturised, two-wheeled version of a 1990’s American muscle car with its ‘ram air bonnet scoop’ styled frontal area.

Putting the unusual name aside for just a moment I fired up the Adly Silver Fox it had only 4km on the clock, brand spanking new! As I motored down the road, I took my time to bed in the brakes, and scrub the slippery gleam off the tyres. Once that was done and the engine was warm I began putting the bike through its paces and immediately started to enjoy myself.

The first thing I noticed was this scooters footprint. The wheels and attached tyres were huge! Most 50cc scooters have 10 inch wheels, the Silver Fox has 13 inch monsters, with the tyres being 130/60-13 front and rear. Having such rubber on a scooter makes a major and noticeable difference to the handling. Braking and cornering performance is fantastic, however do be aware that the larger diameter wheel does mean direction change is some what slower. The Adly is the most stable and predictable 50cc I’ve ridden and is in fact better than many larger capacity machines. During testing I managed to hit a fairly large pothole during a fast right-hand corner. This same corner usually unsettles most small scooters. Generally it is only other large wheeled machines such as the Honda Dylan 150 that keep their composure. The Adly Fox is fighting well above its weight in terms of handling characteristics.

The large wheel gives it another advantage â€' it raises the height of the rider giving greater visibility in traffic as the rider is able to see over the top of cars to see what is happening further ahead. The only downside of having the larger wheel and tyre combination is that some of the power from the 50cc engine is used just to get the big wheels moving… that sounds familiar… big wheels keep on turning… proud Adly keep on burnin’ (dum dum dum dum dum dum)… Rollin’. Rollin’. Rollin’ on the riveerrrrrrrrrr (ding ding ding ding ding ding). Anyway… back on topic. This “small engine moving big wheelsâ€ scenario means the bike is slightly slower off the mark than would normally be expected from a machine that does everything as well as this one does. The shocks feel well set up and firm, most scooters have hopelessly soft rear shocks, but the Fox can handle a pillion with ease. The brakes are firm and predicable with a hydraulic disc in the front and a drum in the rear. The brakes also have a high-stop light fitted to the rear, which, along with the scoots tall stature, makes it very visable on the road, always important.

Overall, if you can see past the Silver Fox’s past life of crime, murder and mayhem. The price and quality of this machine makes it a serious contender for your scooter-buying dollar. Also please bear in mind that the Silver Fox is sold in some places with 10' rather than the 13' wheels and all handling will vary from the above review.

I've owned my Adly for about 8 weeks now and at it's first service last week I had it derestricted. It now does up to about 75km/hr
I run it on 95 and like Brett have noticed more and more of them on the road in the last 2 months.
I looked around a lot before I bought it and I think that for one of the cheapest scooters out there it is the best 50cc on the market. I am really impressed and I recommend it to people looking for a cheap reliable mode of transport.

Silver Fox Rescue

I'm another Silver fox.owner , one of a growing number it seem having spotted a number on the road . I do about 180ks aweek on mine, rain or shine. So far it has been flawless scootering. better now that I have had it derestricted, just the exhaust and variator washer and I can do over 70kph according to the bike computer I use, the speedo does read a little over. Most of what I feel about the bike is covered in the article. handling great, visability excellent.. you tower over most other 50cc scoots. great for looking over the roofs of cars in front. I think for the money there is not much out there that can touch the Fox.
Cheers.
